Ask about your numbers
Read the answer and the sentence that says how your question was understood.

Allow this model first
Ask your data is Pro. It needs a live query model and permission to ask Jev about this model. Model metadata and the words you type can be sent to the advice service. Rows, returned values, formulas and credentials are not sent. Words you type are sent as typed, so do not put a secret in a question.
Ask a specific question
Name the measure, group and time period you need. For example, ask for Net Sales by Region for 2025. The answer starts with a sentence saying what it shows, including the dates it used. A percent measure is formatted as a percent. Read the sentence before relying on the grid. “Last month” follows the last day in the model’s data, which may not be today.
Check the reading
If a question has two fair readings, the answer names the other reading and lets you switch. A measure’s synonym can help place a word; that synonym is included in the permission categories when your question uses it. A month or quarter without a year may be split by year when the model spans several years. A nonstandard fiscal period is not silently treated as a calendar year.
When meaning is missing
If the reading leaves out something important, nothing runs and the page says what is missing. Add the missing meaning and ask again. A successful query proves the returned result for the stated reading and connection. It does not prove that the question meant that reading.
